Since 10’ sections require fewer posts and less installation work, the longer sections can reduce project cost.

Line posts are the vertical posts between sections that support horizontal rails. Line posts have 2 or 3 rails on both sides and have either 2 or 3 holes.

Corner posts can be ordered with 4 or 6 holes depending on the number of rails in the fence.

End posts are at the end of the fence (not used for corners).

Heavy Duty Northern White Cedar Privacy Fence Components and Sections

Fence components can be constructed on your site.

Components include true 2x4s and true 6’ 1”x4” dog-eared boards. The term "dog-ear" applies to the shape of the top of the boards. Instead of a flat top, the boards have the corners sawed off, providing a dog-ear shape.

Three horizontal true 2x4s are screwed to 8’ 4”x8” cedar posts. The vertical dog-eared boards are nailed to the 2x4s. This is a very sturdy fence. We sell the complete kit including hardware and instructions for $125.00 per 8 foot section.

We also offer assembled fence sections at an additional $25.00 per section. These are heavy sections and will require two people to install them.
