Custom Mill Work
Cedar Log Lumber of Millersburg can custom mill logs supplied by customers and shape both structural and trim boards and beams. Custom work includes: debarking; cutting; drying; grading; shaping posts, beams, structural boards, log siding, log walls, tongue and grove paneling and flooring, and trim boards; and, finishing.
We can custom cut nearly any board or beam dimension.
Our Nyle Kiln holds up to 25,000 board feet of lumber. Moisture meters are used to gauge moisture. Drying time varies depending on the species: e.g. Northern white cedar requires 4 to 5 days drying time and pine 2 to 3 weeks. Temperature variations in the kiln are adjusted for species.
Our Weinig Model Hydromat H23C six head molder/planer can shape nearly any board and there are few shapes that we cannot set up, to include shapes where we need to custom grind a new knife. Our machinist is expert at using our Weinig Ronamat 960 for sharpening over 700 existing knife profiles and machining new knives. Since it can take up to 8 hours to set up a custom mold, we charge a setup fee for small custom orders.
